The Crunchwrap Supreme
Raise you hand if you love Taco Bell ๐๐ฝ The Crunchwrap Supreme will forever be my go-to order. Unfortunately, I always feel like a bag of garbage after. Usually because I have the crunchwrap plus a chalupa or two but thatโs a different story. Anyhow, I decided to put my conscious at ease & make my own comfort meal. It turned out BOMB.com. The main ingredients are pretty straight forward: ground beef, nacho cheese sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, & a tostada shell. The crunchy shell is what separates the women from the girls (or the crunchwrap from the burrito in this case).
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion, diced
1 taco seasoning packet
4 flour tortillas (12 inch would be best)
4 tostada shells
1/2 cup nacho cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 tomato, diced ( I only had cherry tomatoes so I used 1/2 a cup, sliced thinly)
1 cup Mexican blend cheese, shredded
2 tbsp olive oil
Process:
In a large saucepan, cook onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add in ground beef & cook until brown, about 3-5 minutes. Add taco seasoning towards the end.
Take one large tortilla & use a small bowl (or crunchy tostada) to cut out a smaller, circular tortilla shell. You can also buy smaller soft tortilla shells at the supermarket but I wanted to utilize my whole large tortilla bag since 10 came in the pack.
Take a large uncut tortilla shell & place two heavy spoonfuls of ground beef in the center.
Top with 2 spoonfuls of nacho cheese. Next add the tostada to the pile. Spread a spoonful of sour cream evenly onto the tostada.
Top with shredded lettuce, tomato & a handful of shredded Mexican cheese.
Next, place your smaller cut-out soft shell tortilla to seal & begin to fold your large tortilla into the center to create the wrap.
Finally, flip it over & place face-down into the center of a heated & oiled saucepan to crisp. About 2-3 minutes on each side.
Enjoy!
